Waterline The Crow and the Constructed Woman
Waterline The Crow and the Constructed Woman

A woman built of brick-like shadows stands in a shallow puddle as a crow settles on her head. Her body seems constructed rather than embodied, a structure pieced together to hold more than it should. The crow becomes both witness and weight, pressing down on an already burdened form. The puddle reflects her instability, hinting at erosion, memory, and the slow collapse of what she has been made to carry. This painting considers how women become the architecture of expectation—constructed, reinforced, and worn down by the roles they are asked to bear.
