This work traces the quiet violence of generational trauma. I lost my mother to the pull of her own depression, and in this work I confront the way that same gravity tugs at me. By rendering this familiar space, I’m acknowledging a cycle that repeats in silence, passed down through gestures of care and withdrawal. This piece sits in that tension, examining how rest can become erasure, and how the places meant to hold us can also pull us under.
