RELEASE;(self portrait)— a digital painting that serves as an exploration of survival, acceptance, and self— as accessible healthcare continues to be at the forefront of today’s debates. As a disabled Womxn, this piece highlights my internal and external struggle with multiple chronic illnesses, with the color choices being representative of each— (yellow: Endometriosis), (green: Cerebral Palsy), (orange: Multiple Sclerosis). This work reflects the ways in which those illnesses and my womanhood coexist— and influence the way I move through the world.
