"Misgendered Lines" confronts the absurdity and rigidity of gendered spaces through a satirical, off-balance encounter in a men’s restroom. A boldly rendered figure in a red dress stands beside a loosely sketched man, flipping the visual hierarchy and unsettling assumptions about who belongs where. Rooted in my own questions about belonging and identity, the work exaggerates presence, erasure, and ambiguity to reveal how social expectations—not bodies—police public space. I invite viewers to reconsider the lines we draw, and who gets crossed out in the process.
