This piece is a form of vivisection that analyzes my being and unveils the dichotomous nature of my existence. From being someone who can be seen as a very joyful person that is full of life I am also someone who can is seen as afflicted with crippling melancholy. Someone with the desire to push when one was meant to pull people in or the fear of being too cruel to one’s self when kindness is all one has to offer. The figure in the painting is a rather morbid figure that intimidates yet in its decrepit frail state it also comes off vulnerable and in need of protection, much like a wounded rabid animal. The figure is also rather deformed, incomplete in its bodily structure, yet well defined to the extent where it is clear what it is. A representation of my complete incompleteness.
