Calligraphy is more than just an art form for me—it is a meditative practice, a way to focus my mind and center my thoughts. Having mental health issues, I am well aware that texts and words have the power to heal. Calligraphy allows me to not only engage with their meaning on a deeper level but also to amplify and share them with others, who may be in need of comfort and healing.
In these works, I explore the differences between one’s transient mental state and core identity. Our identities are not confined to the struggles we face but are shaped by the perseverance we cultivate. I know that I exist because I feel—because I hope, love, dream, and experience the full spectrum of emotions.
My calligraphy transforms these intangible experiences into something visual, a testament to the fact that a diagnosis does not define a person. My works emerge as a visualization of the emotions evoked by the text itself. Through my art, I invite viewers to reflect on their own sense of self beyond labels.
