"Curbside Pickup" uses humor and grit to highlight how women are often treated as both caretakers and castaways. Seated on a trash can and wearing garbage bags as makeshift fashion, the figure transforms a space of disposal into a stage of resistance. The work points to the emotional and domestic labor women are expected to shoulder—quietly, endlessly, and invisibly. By elevating what’s normally left at the curb, the painting asks who society discards, who it relies on, and what happens when the so-called trash looks back.
